Megastar Chiranjeevi landed in Tirupathi at around 9.00 a.m. today. He was received by a large number of cheering fans at the Renigunta airport. Chiranjeevi later drove to Tirumala by road. Chiranjeevi’s fans welcomed him with rose petals. Chiranjeevi was welcomed by the TTD EO and Chairman upon his arrival at Tirumala. Chiranjeevi will be provided with special darshan during the Kalyanothsavam break. Chiranjeevi will stay at Tirumla till evening. He will proceed staring the venue of his public rally in the afternoon. Chiranjeevi’s family members joined him in Tirumala.

Surekha came to Renigunta by air and went to the Varasiddhi Vinayakaswamy temple at Kanipakam by road. She later reached Tirumala and had darshan of lord Balaji. Surekha is said to have brought the nomination papers of Chiranjeevi with her and performed special puja. Chiru will file his papers from Palakollu in April 3 and from Tirupathi on April 4. Surekha more RTC’s-new-scheme-for-Tirumala-Darshan  The APSRTC has com up with a new scheme for pilgrims planning a trip to Tirumala. According to the new scheme, the RTC will issue a combo ticket, which would enable toe pilgrim to reach Tirupathi by train and then catch a bus to Tirumala. On arrival at Tirumala he can exchange the ticket for a darshan token and return home the same evening. The modalities are still being worked out and the scheme is likely to be implemented within three months. &n more President-visits-Tirumala The President of India Smt. Prathibha Patil visited Tirumala, the abode of lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy, along with her family this morning. She came to Tirumala from Hyderabad. The President is in Hyderabad as part of her winter sojourn. She arrived in Tirupathi by special flight. The officials welcomed Rashtrapthi with full temple honours. She prayed in the temple for about 15 minutes. She will return back to Hyderabad this evening. more Plastic-banned-in-Tirumala  The Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam trust board met today and took some key decisions. Among the key decisions, the board has decided to rid Tirumala of Damage caused by excessive use of plastic carry bags and disposable glasses and cups. The TTD will ban the use of plastic carry bags and other items on the sacred Tirumala. The ban will be put in place by next year. more Lokesh,-Brahmani-at-Tirumala Chandra Babu Naidu’s son Lokesh and his wife Brahmani were spotted in public for the first time after their marriage. The couple was in Tirumala. The couple had darshan of lord Venkatewara Swamy through the vaikuntam queue complex. Today is Vaikunta Ekadasi – one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar. The Vaikunta dwaram as it is known, is opened only on this day in the year.
