Chiranjeevi had a bitter experience at Tirupathi soon after he concluded his speech. As Chiranjeevi was about to get into his car, a big crowd gathered and the excited fans jostled with one other to get closer to the star. In the melee, Chiranjeevi was pushed and pulled. The Tirupathi rally resulted in the death of some people. Chiraneevi’s road show in northern Andhra also resulted in the death of five people. Chiru is now in the third phase of his road show in Rayalaseema. On the very first day, to people died in a stampede while another is seriously injured and is battling for his life in the hospital. Six pilgrims, five women and a child lost their lives in an unfortunate stampede incident at the temple this morning. The temple authorities are trying to pass the buck on to the police. And in a bizarre statement the EO says that it is the pilgrims who should be blamed for the mishap. He says that they should not have come in such big numbers. The chief minister has taken a serious note of the incident and has ordered for a report. There was a mad rush for tickets at a theatre in Tadipathri. Prasad, a fan of NTR was eager to grab a ticket but fell down and he was caught in the stampede. He died on the spot. NTR was visibly moved after learning about the unfortunate incident. He immediately assured of financial help to the family of Prasad. Producer Ashwini Dutt also expressed his regret at the unfortunate incident and announced an ex-gratia of one lakh rupees to the family members of the deceased. The huge crowd rushed towards the stage to catch a glimpse of Chiranjeevi. They broke the barricades and entered into a brawl with the security personnel. Chiranjeevi was initially a little apprehensive about the turnout and also the crowd management. But barring some minor hiccups and some people getting injured in a minor stampede and lathi charge, the rally was more or less a peaceful one. About 35 people sustained minor injuries and two people sustained major injuries.
