Chiranjeevi’s Blood and Eye Bank has bagged the award for the best voluntary blood bank for the fifth time in a row. Chief minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy presented the award at a function at Jubilee hall this morning. Allu Aravind, managing trustee of the foundation received the award from the CM.

Chiranjeevi started the blood bank and charitable trust with an aim of doing his bit for the society. The Chiranjeevi fans associations have contributed to the success of the blood bank with their active participation by organizing blood donation camps. The trust has now grown into a big foundation.

Chiranjeevi cup tourney

The Chiranjeevi Charitable Foundation is organsing a cricket tourney for the physically challenged people on August 20th & 21st to coincide with his birthday that falls on August 22.

The matches will be held at the Vijayanand cricket ground at Rajendra Nagar. The winners will take home 20,000 and the runners up will take home 10,000. A national chess tournament for the visually impaired will be held on Septemebr 2 to coincide with Pawan Kalyan's birthday.Special sports meet will beheld on December 3 as part of the World Disability day.

Don't drag Me Into Politics-Chiranjeevi

Megastar Chiranjeevi has appealed to the press not to drag him into politics. Chiranjeevi was speaking at a blood donation camp organized by his Charitable Trust. A group of about 550 software professionals came forward to donate blood at this camp.

Hotel magnate Barron Hilton announced yesterday that he's leaving 97% of his wealth to charity, dramatically cutting the fortune his children and grandkids will get.

Engineering College for the visually challenged!

The Hyderabad based charitable organization The Devnar Foundation has firmed up its proposal to start an Engineering college exclusively for the visually challenged students. The need for such a college has been felt for a long time and it is finally taking shape now.

Visually challenged students are pursuing their engineering at regular colleges but are facing many problems, as the colleges are not in a position to offer them the appropriate facilities.

A Saibaba Goud, the managing trustee of the Devnar Foundation is the brain n behind the idea. The Hyderabad district collector has also agreed in principle to allot land for the proposed engineering college.

The boy is hardly 12. His name is A Sainath, He is the son of Nookaraju, a native of Madulgula mandal near Visakhapatnam. Both are big fans of megastar Chiranjeevi. You may wonder what is so great about this then?

Coming to the point, this young boy has set for himself a very big task. He will travel all the way from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad on foot. He will walk the 600 odd kilometers in a bid to persuade megastar Chiranjeevi to enter politics. Newly weds donate 50 lakhs to charity

The newlywed couple Lokesh and Brahmani donated bout 50 lakhs to charity. An amount of 2 lakhs to two charitable institutions from each district is being given to enable them to do charitable work.
